this recent lengthy opinion piece in el jazeera comes very near expressing the current egyptian situation as i have seen it for quite some time.

this revolt would seem to have been long in the planning. the lack of organization of the protests is puzzling.
another problem is just over the horizon in saudi arabia. the ancient royal family seems ripe for similar chaos(as i recall there is no succession plan), whatever that is. ..and then there is jordan..............

hillary gets it. she recently spoke of forebodings about an upcoming iranian-style government in egypt. i share her concerns.
