the very best sub in town

(1024x768)
WHAT PRICE PROGRESS?
after my treadmill hour today, i wasn't in a cooking mood, so i ventured downtown to try a homemade sub from one of this area's unique and special little markets.

you probably never noticed it.
the business model  doesn't include lottery or the selling of spirits.
the food prices are surprisingly low; the selection is broad.
fresh produce is always available, and flowers, and who knows what else?

the couple and their teenage sons are always around.
one son will be a doctor someday.

anyway, this tasty sub, costing way  under 5 bucks, was so full of  ham(not what all of the the chains call real ham), bacon strips, mozzarella, pepper rings, onion,  tomato, and lettuce that i couldn't believe it when the lady owner brought it out to my car in a driving rain.
there was no lunch meat on this hot sub.

there may be clouds on their business horizon.
a gas station minimart will open soon one block away from their foodland at the busy northeast corner of south diamond and east first streets(across from the bus station) and their small business may suffer.

that our town needs a nice gaolines station near downtown is a given,
some folks  are invariably  plowed under by the big cats of progress.
