we get it fast, but we dont get it good

today's discussion is about overkill.
just as our friend at the ymca this morning was using a snowthrower for a tiny smattering of snow, powerful news organizations aim their heavy artillery at human political flesh, when it would be better left unfired.

the humor site, onion, recently published a funny piece about a rambling 75,000 word 'email' from our president, which might make folks who took the article literally, question his sanity. the fox news website wrote about this 'email' as a straight news item.
there was a barrage of serious responses to the item, from folks 'concerned' about their president's sanity and fitness to hold office.

the email article was eventually removed from the fox website, neither noting the error, nor posting an apology to our president.

do all news organizations trim and shoehorn the news to fit their agendas?
yes, unfortunately, they all do, but their motives are disguised more cleverly than this faux-paux(pun intended).
