the 2011 nascar schedule was announced yesterday. i jotted down a few reactions as i looked it over for the first time.nascar's second biggest market is chicago. what a shocker.
to that end, the first race of the last 10 championship races will be in chicago at chicagoland.
fabled rockingham isnt on the race list.
a kentucky race has been added, seemingly in response to a lawsuit.
half filled ontario speedway in california gets 2 races, yet, fabulous atlanta loses a race.
storied martinsville, love those short tracks, is losing a date.
budweiser will be the lead car on only half the schedule, and will be shifting sponsorship to car #29 with the popular kevin harvick.
isnt it ironic that harvick won the bud shootout last spring? i guess he did.
it looks to me like bud is phasing way down on nascar, probably to invest more into younger more hip audiences like martial arts and x-games.
remember, just a few years ago, busch sponsored and named the entire smaller car series.
dale jr. must feel like the guy who had the golden goose and traded it for a can of mountain dew.
not a good career move.
the bud-earnhardt partnership was truly magical.
do you want to buy a deale-budweiser jacket, cheap?
