i went to town around noon today for some fresh veggies, walnut fudge, a spinach pie, some black rat stout, some good company, and clunky carrousel music---to my shock, what i got was a throatful of choking 100 year old dust and eyes blinded from newly unentombled particles and fragments of 5, at least, generations past.
the mansfield telephone building and the building adjacent are coming down---now.
the carrousel and the big cats are within a 5 iron of each other as is our public square.
perhaps the carrousel should have been playing gorecki's lovely sacred, but troubled, beatus vir, and our church bells tolling..... that's what came to mind. as i munched on my suddenly bitter dark chocolate fudge with walnuts on walnut.
when or where will the carousel of destruction stop? who can stop this carousel of destruction?
.....OR IS THIS WHAT IS KNOWN AS RENEWAL????
